2008 Continental Airlines Friendship Run
The 2008 ING New York City Marathon is now a week long series of events. One of the neatest events is the Continental Airlines Friendship Run. It begins at the United Nations building on 1st Avenue and winds around a bit before it heads up 5th Avenue to finish at the 26 mile marker of the marathon. It is a great event that bring out costumes of the different nationalities that run the race. A great time is generally had by all.

2008 MAC Cross Country Championship - Men
Paul McMullen calls the action for the MAC Cross Country Championship that was held at Eagle Crest Resort at Eastern Michigan University. EMU was the winner in the team and individual event.

2008 Niagara Falls International Half Marathon
Kenyans Pius Korir, 25, and Josephat Ongeri, 29, battled to the wire in the men’s half marathon. Defending-champ Korir won $1,000 for finishing in 1:05:22.7, Ongeri $750 for crossing 0.6 seconds back. Montreal-based Algerian Baghdad Rachem (1:06:42.9) took home $500 for third.
The women’s half marathon saw Ethiopian Alemtsehay Misganaw, 27, run off the shoulder of Russian-born Canadian Lioudmilla Kortchagiuna, 37, until the final 400 meters, then kick past her to win, 1:14:54 to 1:15:08. Third went to masters queen Paula Wiltse, 41, of Brockville, Ont. (1:18:22).
