Gay: ‘I’m capable of improving my personal best in Brussels’ - Samsung Diamond League
Brussels, Belgium – Tyson Gay, the world leader in the 100m, and Caster Semenya, the reigning World 800m champion, met with the media at a press conference in the lead in to Friday’s (27) Memorial Van Damme, the second of two finals of the inaugural 14-meeting Samsung Diamond League series. Chris Solinsky broke thirteen minutes for the third time last night, at the Weltklasse in Zurich. This puts the Stevens Point, Wisconsin native in a unique position, as he is the only non-African runner EVER to go sub thirteen minutes over 5,000 meters three times in one season.
Team USA Closes Out YOG Competition with Eight Total Medals

SINGAPORE - Team USA won two gold medals on the track at the 2010 Youth Olympic Games Monday night, bringing the track & field competition to a close with a total of eight medals. Monday evening featured the debut of the mixed medley relays, with the Americas team winning gold in both the girls and boys event.

Early this morning, I woke up, and as is my habit, I checked my email. I saw the following note from TAFWA President Jack Pfeiffer with some sad news. Scott Davis had died on Wednesday, August 18, after contracting an infection in Moncton, Canada.

Day two at the Bishan Stadium saw U.S. athletes in action in the girls 100 meter, boys 2000 meter steeplechase, girls shot put, and the girls and boys javelin.

The inaugural Youth Olympic Games began in Singapore on Saturday evening with a lavish Opening Ceremony. The Singapore YOG, open to boys and girls born in 1993 or 1994, include many sports that have been part of the modern Olympic Games first held in 1896.
