Stockholm, Sweden - The women’s Long Jump at the DN Galan – Samsung Diamond League – on Friday 6 August which takes place at Stockholm Olympic Stadium will present a rematch of the three medallists from last week’s European Championships.

European Champion Ineta Radevica of Latvia and Portugal’s silver medallist Naide Gomes, who both jumped 6.92m in Barcelona, and Russian Olga Kucherenko, the current world season leader with 7.13, who won bronze with 6.84m in Barcelona, may very well threaten Galina Tjistiakovas 21-year-old stadium record of 7.05m.

But the same could also be said about Russia’s Lyudmila Kolchanova and American Brittney Reese. Kolchanova is currently third on the 2010 lists with 7.01 and was fifth in Barcelona, while Reese who has a personal best of 7.10m and so far has a best in 2010 of 6.94m, is the reigning World indoor and outdoor champion.

Reese with two Samsung Diamond League victories is the current leader of the Diamond Race in the women's Long Jump.

Sweden’s Carolina Klüft was in good spirits after the finals at the European Championships despite her eleventh place with 6.33m, and the former World and Olympic Heptathlon star will be out again to prove her credentials in this individual event.
