Statement from USATF President/Acting CEO Bill Roe on the Lifetime Ban Against Coach Trevor Graham
July 16, 2008 from USATF press release (Indianapolis IN) "USA Track & Field applauds USADA for issuing a lifetime ban against Trevor Graham. Through his involvement in fostering the use of performance-enhancing drugs, Mr. Graham jeopardized the health of his athletes, to say nothing of their integrity and their future ability to compete in the sport. Athletes rarely act alone when they make the ill-advised decision to dope, and anyone involved in advocating or enabling the use of PEDs should be punished just as severely as an athlete who uses them. USA Track & Field has long advocated lifetime bans for first-time doping convictions, and today's action sends a powerful message to athlete support personnel that they will be held accountable for their actions."

Every time the Olympic rolls
Every time the Olympic rolls around, there's talk of possible doping. Sometimes, competitors raise the question when one athlete does particularly well. Other times, tests catch athletes with drugs in their systems.Doping has become such a great concern that the United States formed an Anti-Doping Agency. The truth is that long-term effects of steroids and other performance-enhancing drugs haven't been rigorously studied. And short-term benefits are flawed with many potential side-effects and such consequences as loss of medals, scholarships, eligibility and even death. So all the athletes and coaches should come forward to make a positive awareness against the doping during any event.
