Maurice Greene, Dwight Phillips, Matt Hemingway, Allyson Felix and Erin Gilreath are just a few of the Team USA stars slated to compete Sunday, June 5, against teams from Great Britain and Russia at the 2005 Norwich Union International Match in Glasgow, Scotland. The meet will be held at Scotstoun Stadium.

Team USA will look to get back on the winning track after finishing second to the Commonwealth Select team at last year's Norwich Union International by a two-point margin. Athletes score points for their national team based on place finish.

2004 Olympic men's long jump gold medalist Dwight Phillips and reigning Olympic Trials champion Erin Gilreath return to the U.S. roster after setting stadium records with their wins last year in Birmingham, England.

Phillips, who ended the 2003 and 2004 campaigns with the world's #1 ranking, won the men's long jump at this meet last year with a leap of 8.35 meters/27 feet, 4.75 inches. A two-time U.S. indoor champion, the 2004 Olympic Trials champion and American record holder, Gilreath won the women's hammer throw in Birmingham last summer with a toss of 69.97m/229-6. Gilreath's competition will be fierce, as Olympic gold medalist Olga Kuzenkova plans to compete for Russia.

The 2000 Olympic gold medalist and three-time world champion Maurice Greene headlines the men's 100 meters, while 2003 World Outdoor 200m champion John Capel and 2004 Olympic relay silver medalist Coby Miller are slated for the men's 200 meters.

Olympic 200m silver medalist Allyson Felix will move up a distance, competing in the women's 400 meters. With her long stride and strong finishing speed, Felix is considered a natural at the longer distance and will look to improve her personal best of 51.83.

Team USA will send its top two men's high jumpers to Glasgow as Olympic silver medalist Matt Hemingway and Olympic Trials champion Jamie Nieto, fourth at the Olympics, compete.

Other top competitors slated for the meet include Olympic 800 and 1,500m gold medalist Kelly Holmes of Great Britain in the women's 1,500 meters, Britain's Olympic 4x100m gold medalists Mark Lewis- Francis and Jason Gardener in the men's 100, three-time Russian champion and 2001 world outdoor silver medalist Yaroslav Rybakov of Russia in the men's high jump, and Olympic silver medalist Irina Simagina of Russia and Olympic heptathlon bronze medalist Kelly Southerton of Great Britain in the women's long jump.
