Bob Kennedy's Wife Running for County Prosecutor
July 18, 2006
From press release

For years, Olympian and American Record holder Bob Kennedy made a name for himself by running. Now, Kennedy's wife, Melina Kennedy, is trying to do the same. Melina Kennedy is running as a candidate for Marion County Prosecutor in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Appropriately, Bob Kennedy's Olympic credentials and connections are not lost on his wife's campaign. Kennedy and several other local Olympic athletes and coaches have organized as the Olympians for Kennedy in support of Melina's campaign for prosecutor. The list of the Olympians' names is as long as it is impressive, including: Sam Bell (coach, 1976 Montreal), Sunder Nix (gold medalist 4 x 400, 1984 Los Angeles), Randy Heisler (discus, 1988 Seoul), Dede Nathan (heptathlon, 2000 Sydney), Terry Brahm (5000m, 1988 Seoul), Bob Kennedy (5000m, 1992 Barcelona, 1996 Atlanta), Rob Johnson (coach, 2000 Sydney), and Mark Deady (1500m, 1988 Seoul).

Kennedy is hosting an ice cream social and family fundraiser on August 13, 2006, from 1 to 3 p.m. at Eagle's Crest in Indianapolis (7201 Fishback Road). Tickets are payable at the door and the cost is $25 (Bronze), $50 (Silver), $75 (Gold), and $100+ (Olympic Legend). Please RSVP to: Karina Straub, 637-3310 ext. 227. If you cannot attend, but wish to make a campaign contribution, please send cash, check, or money order to: Melina Kennedy, 603 E. Washington St., Suite 100 46204.
