CBS Sports and CSTV to Broadcast NCAA Track & Field Live

CBS Sports and CSTV: College Sports Television team up to provide
the
most live coverage ever for the 2006 NCAA Division I Men's and
Women's
Outdoor Track and Field Championships with five and a half hours on
Friday, June 9
and Saturday, June 10, from Sacramento, Calif. The 5 and a half hours
of live
coverage is the most in the 86-year history of the event.The event is highlighted by CBS Sports' first-ever live broadcast on
Saturday, June 10 (3:30-6:00 PM, ET) when the 2006 men's and
women's
team champions are crowned. This is the first time since 1982 that the
final day of competition will be broadcast live. The final day includes the Men's and Women's 100, 200 and 400 Meters
finals, the Men's and Women's Triple Jump final, the Men's and
Women's
Shot Put final and the Men's and Women's 4x400 Relay, all of which will
factor into the team standings. CSTV will broadcast three hours of action on Friday, June 9
(8:00-11:00 PM, ET), marking the first time that the third day of
competition has been televised live. CSTV's broadcast will be
highlighted by the Men's and Women's 4x100 Relay finals, the Men's

Hurdles final, the Women's 100 hurdles final and the Men's and
Women's
5000 Meters finals. CBS Sports' Ian Eagle, 1976 NCAA Outdoor High Jump Champion
Dwight
Stones, 1983 and 1985 NCAA Outdoor Long Jump Champion Carol
Lewis and
1995 and 1996 NCAA Champion Ato Boldon will call the action from
Alex
G. Spanos Sports Complex for both CBS Sports and CSTV. CBS Sports
Craig
Silver serves as producer for both broadcasts.
