Reigning world champions Lauryn Williams and Adam Nelson have been added to the field for the 11th Reebok Boston Indoor Games on Jan. 28, organizers announced today.

The 22-year-old Williams, who captured the 100 meter title and anchored the victorious U.S. 4x100 relay squad at last summer's World Championships in Helsinki, will contest the 60 meters in her Boston Indoor Games debut. The 2004 NCAA 100 meter champion while at the University of Miami, Williams has a personal best of 7.22 in the indoor short dash from 2003.

Nelson, who claimed the gold medal in the shot put at August's World Championships, returns to defend his Boston title. The two-time Olympic silver medalist and three-time World Championships runner-up will again face a solid field in Boston that includes four-time World Champion John Godina; 2004 World Indoor Champion Christian Cantwell; and 2004 World Indoor silver medalist Reese Hoffa. At last year's event, Nelson unleashed a 21.66m [71-0 3/4] throw, an indoor personal best and the third farthest indoor performance of the year.

Last year, the Boston meet was the highlight of the season's first busy international weekend, sharing the date with the Sparkassen Cup in Stuttgart, Germany, and the Norwich Union International in Glasgow, Scotland. In 2006, the international calendar will be slightly less crowded. The four-nation match in Glasgow will also take place on Jan. 28, while the Stuttgart meeting will take place the following weekend.

Highlights of the Boston meet will be broadcast in the United States the following day, Jan. 29, on ESPN2 from 3-4:30 p.m. eastern.
