Reebok named title sponsor of Boston Indoor Games
November 1, 2004 From Press Release
BOSTON, MA - Reebok has formed a partnership with Global
Athletics & Marketing, Inc. to be named title sponsor of the world-
renowned Boston Indoor Games. In its nine-year history, the Boston
Indoor Games has hosted top track-and-field athletes from around the
world in a city known for its strong running tradition. The exciting
competition, which will now be referred to as the Reebok Boston Indoor
Games, marks the first time Reebok has become title sponsor of such an
important event in the world of running. What started out as a local Boston track meet in 1996 has grown into an
internationally famed event featuring more than 70 Olympic and World
Championship medallists. The star-studded roster of athletes who have
participated in the Boston Indoor Games has included Gail Devers
(60h), Maurice Greene (60m), Stacy Dragila (Pole Vault), Allyson Felix
(400m), Derartu Tulu (5,000m) and Haile Gebrselassie (3,000m). In
2004 alone, nine athletes who began their seasons in Boston went on to
win medals at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens. "Our partnership with the Boston Indoor Games is an important step
toward continuing to solidify Reebok as a top running brand," said Todd
Klein, senior director of global sports marketing. "The Boston Indoor
Games is one of the best indoor meets in the world, and Reebok is
thrilled to have the opportunity to be its title sponsor." The 2005 Reebok Boston Indoor Games will be held on January 29,
2005 at the Reggie Lewis Track & Athletic Center. Tickets for the Games
will be available for purchase on November 15, 2004 online at
www.bostonindoorgames.com or by calling 617-536-7030. Fans are
advised to get their tickets as soon as possible because this
international event has sold out for the past two years. Reebok International Ltd., headquartered in Canton, MA, is a leading
