Wariner, Felix Set for Defense at adidas Track Classic
April 13, 2006
From press release

World champions Jeremy Wariner and Allyson Felix will return to the Home Depot Center to defend their titles at the adidas Track Classic in Carson, Calif., on May 21, organizers announced today.

The 22-year-old Wariner, the reigning world and Olympic 400 meter champion, topped a strong field in Carson last year, clocking 44.53. The former Baylor standout, who sat out the indoor season, produced a dazzling 43.2 leg in the 4x400 meter relay at last weekend's Texas Relays.

Felix, the world champion in the 200 and the Olympic silver medallist in the event, won the event last year in 22.14, in a fast race over Lauryn Williams, who clocked 22.27. The 20-year-old Los Angeles native is slated to open her season at the Kansas Relays on April 22, where she will contest the 100 meters.
