U.S. men sweep in Paris

Allen Johnson, Terrence Trammell and Ron Bramlett grabbed the top three spots in the men's 110m hurdles Friday at the 2004 Meeting Gaz de France Paris Saint-Denis in France.

A four-time world outdoor champion and the 1996 Olympic gold medalist, Johnson dominated the race in posting the third fastest time in the world this season with his win in 13.07 seconds. Trammell, the 2000 Olympic silver medalist and 2004 Olympic Trials winner, was a distant second in 13.37 and Bramlett grabbed third in 13.46.

In other men's events, 2000 Olympic gold medalist Maurice Greene was the runner-up in the 100 meters finishing in 10.14, as Portugal's Francis Obikwelu crossed the line first in 10.06. Obikwelu also was victorious in the 200 meters in 20.12 seconds, with Joshua J.J. Johnson the runner- up in 20.28.

2004 Olympic Trials third placer Derek Miles was third Friday with a best clearance of 5.75 meters/18-10.25 in the men's pole vault. Trials runner- up Toby Stevenson cleared the same height for fourth place and U.S. record holder Jeff Hartwig tied for fifth with a clearance of 5.65m/18- 6.50.

In women's action, Olympic Trials 200m runner-up Muna Lee easily won that event in Paris in 22.49 seconds, with Debbie Ferguson of the Bahamas a distant second in 22.74.

Elsewhere, Jenny Adams placed third in the 100m hurdles, as Canada's Perdita Felicien won the event in 12.60, and 2004 Olympic Trials hammer throw winner Erin Gilreath placed fourth with a best effort of 69.89m/229-3.
