2. Recapturing his first USA cross country crown since winning both the 4K and 12K in 2000, Adam Goucher out-kicked Daniel Lincoln to take the 4K title in 10:50.

3. Blake Russell ended two-time defending champion Colleen De Reuck's reign as the women's 8K queen by pulling away from De Reuck over the final loop to win in 26:47.

4. As expected, Dathan Ritzenhein (#11), the defending champion, jumped out to the front of the pack in the men's 12K.

6.Carrie Tollefson, a 1500-meter star, won her first USA Cross Country title with a 12:32 in the 4K, five seconds ahead of second place finisher Lauren Fleshman.

7. In a race that was dominated by young collegians, Iowa State freshman Kiel Uhl was the surprise winnner in the Men's Junior 8K, pulling away over the final loop to victory in 23:50.

8. Sarah Krakoff of Boulder, CO won the Women's Masters 8K championship in a time of 31:27, defeating Kathryn Martin (Northport, NY) by an 8-second margin.
