Summer Training 2001
-
Summer Training Week Twelve of Twelve
Congratulations! You have completed the twelve weeks of
summer training and should be ready for Fall Cross
Country. Try and find a fast little 5k and have some fun
tearing up the course!
-
Summer Training Week Eleven of Twelve
Week eleven is a fun week. Good workouts and a chance to
run a race. Try a 5k on the roads for high schoolers or a nice
hilly 8k for the college set.
-
Summer Training Week Ten of Twelve
Week ten is a good checking point. The workouts are hard,
but your strength really begins to show as you charge hills.
The tempo run is challenging, but you get confidence from
completing all the workouts of the week. Remember, the
long run is at a relaxed pace, not a barn burner.
-
Summer Training Week Nine of Twelve
Week nine gets you doing fartlek-speed play. It is a great
way to run in the parks and fields and get you the final
callousing that you need for cross country.
-
Summer Training Week Eight of Twelve
You are now into eight weeks of summer training--good
job--remember to stretch and eight glasses of water per
day!
-
Summer Training Week Seven of Twelve
In week seven, the long run is getting longer, and the hill
workouts and temp runs are the keys to this week.
-
Summer Training Week Six of Twelve
In week six, you are half way there, and you can feel the
quality of the training that you have done so far - you are
halfway there to Fall Cross Country.
-
Summer Training Week Five of Twelve
In week five, we start fartlek workouts and the long runs are
getting longer.
-
Summer Training Week Four of Twelve
Week Four, and you're doing temp runs and long runs . . .
-
Summer Training Week Three of Twelve
With week three, we add a few more training sessions, plus
we make sure that you focus on the goal-being fit for Fall
Cross Country!
-
Summer Training Week Two of Twelve
In week two, we add a few things, but you can handle it . . .
-
Summer Training Week One of Twelve
Here's your first week of summer training. Remember, keep
it fun . . .
