1. The high school girls had the spotlight on Thursday, and Sarah Bowman of Fauquier High School (TN) used the opportunity to shine by winning her second straight Penn Relays mile title in 4:50.62.

2. Nicole Leach of West Catholic High School in PA broke her own Penn Relays Record by running 57.44 in defense of her 400-meter hurdle title. Jamaican high school champion Nickiesha Wilson was second in 58.44.

3. Foot Locker Cross Country Champion Aislinn Ryan dropped a 4:48 1600-meter split in the anchor leg of the high school DMR to give Warwick Valley (NY) the win in 11:47.65.

4. Alan Webb debuted his 2005 track campaign with an impressive 5K victory in a career-best 13:30.25 on Thursday night. Webb out-dueled runner-up Joseph Kosgei of Kenya (13:32.98).

5. Texas star Marshevet Hooker took the College Women's "Championship" 100-meter title in 11.24. "I just wanted to run as fast as possible," said Hooker of her strategy. "You don't want to overthink things in a big race."

6. Not only did South Carolina's Tiffany Ross-Williams win the 400-meter hurdles in 55.70, the second fastest time ever run at the Penn Relays, but she also split a 50.7 in helping her team to the 4x400 title over Miami in 3:28.00.

7. Michigan's Nick Willis anchors home the winning 4xMile relay team, which set a new Collegiate, Penn Relays and Franklin Field record with their time of 16:04.54. The previous mark of 16:07.96 was held by Arkansas, set at the 1999 Penn Relays.

8. Florida's acclaimed relay teams turned the trick twice, by winning the 4x200 (1:20.94) over Louisiana State and the 4x400 (3:03.34) over Texas Tech. Florida's time of 1:20.94 was the eight fastest all-time at the Penn Relays.
