The ATF 2001/2002 Conditioning Program

  • February 2002-The Sixth Month of Conditioning
With less than six weeks before the opening of outdoor season, this month is important. The endurance, speed, and strength you need is inside you, its time to focus on the workouts.
  • January 2002-Fifth Month of Conditioning Program
In this fifth month of conditioning, we focus on strength training and speed development.
  • December 2001-Fourth Month of Conditioning
We incorporate cold weather workouts inside and snow workouts as well to develop endurance, speed, and flexibility.
  • November 2001-Third Month of Conditioning
We start speed development here, for jumpers, hurdlers and throwers ( of course, the sprinters, too). We work on hills, conditioning, overall fitness and begin the long haul to spring track!
  • October 2001 - Second Month of Conditioning
With serious focus on making workouts fun, but increasing the conditioning, we at AT&F have posted the second month of workouts for sprinters, jumpers and throwers. Hillwork, jumping rope, skipping, lunges, and even frisbee are used to develop the entire athlete. And yes, there is running for everybody!
  • September 2001, First Month of Conditioning
These workouts, for sprinters, jumpers and throwers, were developed by the staff at American Track & Field to get the track athlete into a high fitness level for Track 2002! The workouts will cover the period from September 2001 through March 2002. Workouts should take no more than an hour!
